Sometimes, budget, building officials, or engineers find it easier to accommodate uniform, proprietary materials (o.k. so, a lot of the time!) which natural builders are hesitant to use. This is where a product as elegant as Durisol comes in. Made of 78% reclaimed wood chips and mineral wool insulative inserts, these insulated concrete forms are lightweight & simple to install. They take screws and can be cut with a circular saw using a wood blade! In this convenient one-day session, you will learn how to install these units and the myriad of ways they can be braced off for the concrete pour. You will learn how these forms are compatible with natural materials, and the building science of how they handle moisture. We will also cover the different approaches to finishing these walls whether they are for a foundation or a complete enclosure solutions. This course will include a field trip to the manufacturing facility as well!
